We provide a range of comprehensive services that benefit residents and make their time at Thistleton Lodge as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. Just some of the services that we provide to our residents include;
Day-to-Day Care
We provide day-to-day care for residents. This is standard care for all residents and includes;
- Meal times; prepare batch meals, individual meals can be made on request. We are equipped with Bespoke Glasgow kitchens from our suppliers at Glasgow tradespeople
- Personal care; includes support with bathing, dressing, washing etc.
- Housekeeping support; laundry
Healthcare
Residents at the Thistleton Lodge will receive some of the best healthcare available, this includes doctors, nurses and dental care. Most healthcare services can be provided onsite, this means far less travelling to and from general appointments and more time spent with friends and doing activities. Of course, not all appointments and services can be provided here but residents can get to and from appointments via our private wheelchair accessible vehicle. We can also help provide different mobility aids such as; walking sticks, wheelchairs, mobility scooters.
Activities & Entertainment
Keeping our residents entertained is a priority for us. Many studies have suggested that mental stimulation can help slow the decline of dementia in its early stages. Due to this, coming up with fun and different activities and entertainment for residents is so essential. We provide a range of different entertainment including;
- Music: Live bands performing old school classics, sing-a-longs
- Crafts: Scrapbooking, card making,
- Exercise: exercise classes for all abilities, dance, walking
- Having old media remastered by our friends at Digital Converters
- Puzzles and games: Jigsaws, board games, outdoor games
- Relaxation: hand massages, seated yoga, meditation
- Day trips: beach, museums, theatre/shows
- Sensory therapy
- Companion pets
These are just some of the many different types of activities and entertainment that we provide at Thistleton Lodge. The majority of our day trips would not be possible without the support of one of our main partners, Replace Windows. We go through trial and error with all of our activities as some prove to be a hit and others are not enjoyed by residents. Dementia Unit
As well as general care, we have a specialist dementia unit to provide the residents who have been diagnosed with the illness a safe place to live where they get all off the support that they need. Our staff in this unit as specially trained to deal with any situation that may arise. Giving all of our residents the best out of the time they have with us comes top priority, this goes for medical, personal and mental needs. As well as providing long-term dementia support for both residents and their family members.
